Deep cleans here are team work and the sum has three parts: £26 for every cleaner hour on site, a single £30 for machines and detergents however many people turn up, and a floor of two cleaners for three hours. Smallest booking £186. Largest, three cleaners across six hours, £498.
| Team and hours on site | Total, kit included |
|---|---|
| 2 cleaners, 3 hours | £186 |
| 2 cleaners, 4 hours | £238 |
| 2 cleaners, 5 hours | £290 |
| 3 cleaners, 3 hours | £264 |
| 3 cleaners, 4 hours | £342 |
| 3 cleaners, 6 hours | £498 |
Leave a vacuum and your own products on the side and the £30 drops off. Where the team finishes early you pay for hours worked, not hours reserved. Two people over six and three over four both reach £342, so the deciding question there is how long you want a crew in the house.
Deep clean or move-out band
| Question | One off deep clean | Move-out band |
|---|---|---|
| The unit | Hours on site, £186 up to £498 | Bedrooms let, £156 up to £425 |
| Judged by | You | An inventory clerk |
| Single oven | Its own line at £77 | Inside the band |
| Right when | You are staying put | Keys are going back |
Callers ask for one and describe the other most weeks. Handing the keys back means the banded move-out price, which is normally cheaper and already covers the single oven. Staying put in a home that has run away from you means this booking. And the weekly service at £22 an hour is a third animal altogether: one cleaner, one home, already in reasonable order.
What a team does that one cleaner cannot
Two people work simultaneously, generally one opening up the kitchen while the other takes the bathrooms, and the job climbs as well as spreads. Door tops, picture rails, extractor grilles, behind and under the white goods wherever the floor lets them roll, cupboard interiors, radiator backs, and skirtings done kneeling rather than with a mop head. Three hours between two people resets a small flat properly. A three bedroom house left for a couple of years wants six hours with two or four with three, and you get told that on the phone rather than watching us run out of time with a bedroom untouched.
Where the hours go in a Lewisham bathroom
Into the limescale, almost every time. Hard Thames Water furs chrome, clouds glass and quietly scales the inside of a rainfall head where nobody ever looks. A screen wants acid descaler and two goes with a blade, and the gap between them achieves more than any amount of pressure. Badly furred glass does come clear, though not necessarily back to new. Where the surface underneath has already pitted, nothing remains on it to take off. You hear that while we are standing in the bathroom, not afterwards as an excuse.
Surface mould on the low ground near the rivers
Streets closest to the Quaggy and the Ravensbourne sit low, and the two rivers meet in Cornmill Gardens just off the high street. Ground floor conversions along those roads hold damp, and black mould in bedroom corners and on the wall behind a wardrobe is one of the commonest reasons anybody rings for a deep clean instead of a weekly one. So here is the position, stated plainly.
Washing the surface growth off is a cleaning job, it is inside the deep clean, and it works. The product is given its full dwell time instead of being wiped straight off, most of the staining comes away with the growth, and the wall looks right again. What it is not is a repair. If the cause is a cold external wall with a wardrobe flat against it, or moisture entering the building, the mould returns, and it returns on the same wall. Damp proofing, tanking, rising damp, ventilation work, drying a floor out, lifting soaked underlay, and mould that has rooted below the surface are for builders, damp specialists and flooring fitters. We do none of it. No survey comes from us and no guarantee about damp does either, since that would be a promise about your building rather than about our cleaning. What you get is the truth on the day and the name of the right trade. Pulling that wardrobe four inches off the wall achieves more than anything in our van.
After the builders
Plaster dust travels and one pass will not remove it. Budget four hours with two cleaners as the minimum for a post-works clean, because everything happens twice: once to take the bulk away, then properly after whatever was hanging in the air has come down. Grout and silicone wait until the very end, since cleaning them while dust is still falling only beds grit into the joint. Tell us about any sanding, as it changes which filters we bring. We will not begin with rubble still in the property or a trade cutting tiles next door, and waste beyond a bag or two needs a licensed carrier who goes in before us.
Landing a team and its kit at your door
Shifting three cleaners and a full kit is a different proposition from one cleaner with a bag, so access is settled first. One of the Loampit Vale or Gateway blocks means signing in at a desk, a timed loading bay and a service lift reserved with the building, which is roughly twenty minutes at each end of the slot. A converted terrace means a staircase with a turn in it and kit carried up in stages, and where yours is the upstairs flat with its own front door there is no route through to the back of the house at all. Tell us which you have and the slot gets built to match.
What is priced separately
Floors, since extraction needs different kit and a drying window. Counted by the room that is bedroom £36, living room £43, through lounge £61, flight £41, and a rug at £35 or £51 by size. Cookers keep their own line too, because those racks go out to the heated tank whatever is happening indoors: a single at £77, a double at £110, a hob at £23, an extractor at £28. Soft furnishings go piece by piece, a two seater sofa at £57, an armchair at £33, a mattress at £35, a dining chair at £13, with curtains cleaned on the pole at £35 for a short drop or £42 for a long one.
Who books one
People expecting family at Christmas. Landlords wanting a flat reset after a long tenancy without a full check-out clean. Anyone who has just had a loft conversion or a side return, which half this borough appears to be doing. And a steady trickle who have been ill and quietly fallen behind, which is far commoner than anybody admits on the phone and which nobody here judges. Landlords in the newer blocks sometimes book one between short lets, on the basis that a lift slot and two cleaners make a tidier morning than a full inventory clean.
The team rate holds right across 8am to 8pm, every day of the week, and a Sunday evening carries no loading. Deep cleans run across the patch, taking in the Deptford flats and the ground floor conversions down in Ladywell. All the arithmetic is set out on the prices page. Ring 020 8077 4931 while the line is open.
Questions we get asked
How much is a one off deep clean in Lewisham?
It starts at £186: two cleaners, three hours, £26 a cleaner hour plus £30 of kit. Two people across four hours is £238 and across five £290. Three people come to £264, £342 and £498 over three, four and six hours.
How is it different from regular cleaning?
Regular cleaning sends one person on an hourly rate, £22 weekly or £24 fortnightly, to hold a home that is already in reasonable order. A deep clean sends two cleaners minimum for three hours minimum and gets inside cupboards, behind appliances and after the limescale.
Can you get rid of the black mould in my ground floor flat?
Surface growth washes off and most of the staining leaves with it, and that work sits inside the deep clean. What we cannot touch is the cause. Down on the low streets by the Quaggy and the Ravensbourne it is usually a cold wall with furniture blocking the airflow, so it grows back until another trade sorts it.
Do you damp proof or treat rising damp?
No, and no clean will be dressed up as if we had. Proofing, tanking, ventilation work, drying a floor out and mould rooted below the surface all belong to builders, damp specialists and flooring fitters. We clean the surface, say what returns, and name the trade to ring.
Can you clean after builders?
Yes, provided the waste has gone and the trades are done. Plaster dust wants two passes at least, so allow four hours with two cleaners as a floor. Say if there has been sanding, because that changes which filters get loaded into the van.
Does the £30 kit charge apply per cleaner?
It applies once per booking, and every total in the table already carries it a single time. Put your own vacuum and products out on the side and it comes off altogether.
